This Privacy Policy explains how The East Bend (“we,” “us”) collects, uses and shares information through theeastbend.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you send a form on the Site (Share Your Thoughts, Investors, Businesses or Media), we collect what you enter, such as your name, email address, company or media outlet, neighborhood and message, and whether you ask to receive updates or our newsletter.
Information collected automatically. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. It uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, your device and browser type, the website that referred you and your approximate location (city level). We do not use this information to identify you. Our hosting provider also processes technical information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the Site.
2. How we use information
We use information to respond to your inquiries; to send the updates or newsletter you asked for; to share community feedback with the project team; to operate, secure and improve the Site; and to comply with the law.
3. How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site and act on our behalf: Netlify (hosting and form processing), Google (website analytics) and Beehiiv (newsletter delivery, only if you opt in); with members of the project team who need it to respond to you; and, for Share Your Thoughts feedback, with project stakeholders, including public agencies, as part of the planning process (as that form notes). We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights and safety of others, or as part of a merger, sale or transfer of the project.
4. Your choices
Newsletter: every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Cookies and analytics: you can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the Site switches Google Analytics off for your visits. Because there is no common standard for “Do Not Track” browser signals, the Site does not respond to them.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to opt out of its sale or sharing (we do neither). To make a request, email digital@arrtglobal.com. We will confirm your request and respond within the time the law requires, and we will not treat you differently for making one.
6. Data retention and security
We keep form submissions only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires. The Site is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to submissions is restricted to authorized people. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information (such as financial or health details) through the Site’s forms.
7. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Other websites
The Site links to news articles, partners and other websites. Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to read their policies.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Changes take effect when posted.
